The anime is based on a series of Japanese light novels called "Record of Lodess War" written by Ryo Mizuno.
The Light Novels series was originally created as a table RPG game, and the story was developed from the adventures of the characters played by the players.

Summary and Events

They come together to face the army of Emperor Bell, who seeks control of the island.
During the battle, Parn meets Ashram, a mysterious warrior who reveals to him the true threat that hangs over Lodoss: The Resurrection of the God of Evil, Kardis.
Parn and his companions leave on a journey to find the elemental jewelry that can seal Kardis again.
